SEN Tutor – 1:1 Support for Students in Canterbury

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Tutor to deliver one‑to‑one tuition to students with special educational needs in Canterbury. This full‑time position offers flexible hours and the chance to make a meaningful impact on young learners’ confidence and academic progress.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, personalised 1:1 lessons tailored to each pupil’s SEN requirements.
• Adapt teaching strategies to suit diverse learning styles and abilities.
• Build trusting relationships with students, families and school staff.
• Monitor, assess and report on student development and achievements.
• Foster independence and confidence while supporting academic progress.

Required profile

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), tutoring experience, or a relevant educational qualification.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Patience, empathy and a genuine passion for supporting learners.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Required skills

• Ability to adapt teaching methods to individual needs.
• Knowledge of SEN strategies and resources.
