SEN Tutor – Flexible Part‑Time Role

About the role
This part‑time, temporary position offers the chance to make a real difference in the life of a young learner with special educational needs. You will work directly in the student’s home or local community setting, providing personalised one‑to‑one tuition.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver engaging 1:1 lessons tailored to each student’s individual needs and learning style.
- Plan and prepare lesson materials that address a range of additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD and other complex learning requirements.
- Build positive relationships that encourage confidence, motivation and progress.
- Adapt teaching approaches flexibly around the student’s timetable.
Required profile
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN.
- Patient, empathetic and adaptable attitude.
- Strong communication and behaviour management abilities.
- Passion for helping vulnerable learners achieve their potential.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
Required skills
- No specific technical skills required.
