SEND Tutor/Teacher – Maths, English or Science

About the role

We are seeking passionate SEND Tutors and Teachers to deliver Maths, English or Science tuition to young people with SEND and SEMH needs. The role offers flexible, trauma‑informed teaching across in‑person, online and hybrid formats, supporting learners from KS1 to KS5.

Key responsibilities

• Provide tailored tuition (in‑person, remote or hybrid) for pupils with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, PMLD and related needs.
• Plan, deliver and adapt lessons using trauma‑informed approaches.
• Monitor and report student progress, offering regular feedback to pupils, parents and referring agencies.
• Collaborate with local schools and authorities to ensure safe, supportive learning environments.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years teaching experience, preferably with SEND/SEMH, MLD, SLD or PMLD.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS).
• Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain) and two professional references.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding practices.

Required skills

• Experience teaching Maths, English and/or Science to diverse learners.
• Familiarity with SEND, SEMH and trauma‑informed pedagogy.
• Ability to plan lessons, assess progress and provide constructive feedback.
