Senior Accountant Client Manager

About the role

The Senior Accountant Client Manager will oversee a portfolio of client accounts, delivering accurate financial reporting and strategic advice. This role is based in Harpenden and serves a small professional‑services firm that values high‑quality accounting and proactive client support.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of client accounts, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
• Provide expert financial advice, strategic planning and budgeting support.
• Prepare and submit tax returns in line with current regulations.
• Review and approve client financial statements for completeness and accuracy.
• Identify and implement process‑improvement opportunities.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory changes.
• Build and nurture strong client relationships as a trusted advisor.

Required profile

• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA or equivalent).
• Proven experience managing client accounts within professional services.
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles and tax regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Analytical mindset with high attention to detail.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
