Senior Authorised Person – Electrical Distribution (SAP)

About the role

NG Bailey, in partnership with Freedom Group, is seeking experienced Senior Authorised Persons (SAP) to support high‑profile electrical infrastructure projects across the UK power networks. This permanent, full‑time role is based in Widnes and offers the chance to work on LV, HV and EHV distribution schemes.

Key responsibilities

• Perform authorisation and certification activities on LV, HV and EHV projects for multiple Distribution Network Operators.
• Coordinate with DNOs such as UKPN, SSEN, SPEN, NPG, ENW and National Grid to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Provide technical guidance to project teams and mentor junior engineers on authorisation processes.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for all authorisation work.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Senior Authorised Person within the UK power distribution sector.
• Demonstrated ability to work across a range of voltage levels (LV, HV, EHV).
• Strong understanding of DNO requirements and industry regulations.
• Willingness to travel to various network sites as required.
