Senior Construction Manager – Large Civil Engineering Projects

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Construction Manager to lead the delivery of the main civil engineering package at Hinkley Point C. The role involves overseeing large reinforced‑concrete structures, managing a diverse on‑site workforce and ensuring the project is completed safely, on time and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Directly lead and manage a site team of 80+ operatives to deliver the main civils package.
• Set standards and benchmarks, identify quality issues early and implement corrective actions.
• Sequence works, apply protection measures and monitor progress to meet hand‑over deadlines.
• Manage client inspections, hand‑over processes and quality documentation.
• Monitor productivity, cost trends and intervene to keep the project on budget.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and share lessons learned across projects.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience directly delivering projects with a workforce of 80+ operatives.
• At least 3 years working on heavy reinforced concrete structures, preferably 5 years in construction.
• Trade background in carpentry, formwork or reinforcement fixing.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, “one‑team” attitude.
