Senior Construction Planner

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Construction Planner to join our team on a two‑year fixed‑term contract, supporting the planning and delivery of major construction projects across Scotland and London. The role is site‑based with regular travel to multiple project locations and includes coverage of travel expenses.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and update detailed construction programmes, including baseline, short‑term look‑ahead and recovery schedules.
• Monitor project progress against key milestones and contractual deadlines, preparing progress reports, earned‑value analysis and planning dashboards.
• Identify programme risks and delays, recommending and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with site, commercial and project management teams to ensure accurate reporting and alignment with construction methodologies and resource requirements.
• Support tender planning, programme development and project sequencing.
• Attend site meetings and conduct regular site visits across multiple projects.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Controls or a related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Construction Planner or Senior Planner within the construction or infrastructure sector.
• Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6 (essential) and experience with Microsoft Project and Asta Powerproject (advantageous).
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, critical path analysis and project controls.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and problem‑solving abilities, with strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple programmes across several live projects and a full UK driving licence.
