Senior Corporate Tax Manager – Corporate Tax Service Line

About the role

McGinnis Loy Associates is partnering with a Top 25 accountancy practice to recruit a Senior Corporate Tax Manager for their Reading office. Reporting to the Tax Partner, you will lead both compliance and advisory work for a diverse portfolio of UK and international corporate clients.

Key responsibilities

• Review and file complex corporate tax returns, identifying additional planning opportunities.
• Lead UK and cross‑border tax advisory projects alongside the Partner.
• Generate new business leads and win tax compliance and advisory work.
• Support owner‑managed businesses and larger corporates (£10 m‑£250 m turnover) with tax queries and strategic advice.
• Plan, review and mentor the work of junior team members, conducting appraisals and interviews.
• Develop tax‑efficient structures and assist with corporate reorganisations.
• Monitor UK legislative changes and assess impact on client portfolios.
• Ensure delivery of tax work within agreed cost, quality and timescales.

Required profile

• Qualified ATT, CTA or ACA with experience in a Top 75, regional practice or tax boutique.
• Proven track record in corporate tax compliance and advisory for mid‑size to large businesses.
• Strong understanding of UK GAAP and corporate tax legislation.
• Demonstrated ability to coach, manage and develop junior staff.
• Business development experience and a proactive client‑facing approach.
