Senior Credit Manager – Property Finance

About the role

This senior credit manager position sits within a specialist property finance lender in London. The role is hybrid and focuses on bridging and refurbishment‑led lending, assessing new enquiries, preparing credit papers and guiding transactions through to funding.

Key responsibilities

• Review and analyse new lending enquiries from business development managers and property professionals.
• Assess the structure, purpose, security and repayment strategy of each proposal.
• Conduct investigations, challenge information and prepare robust credit papers for the credit committee.
• Manually underwrite cases from initial proposal through to completion.
• Collaborate with BDMs and internal stakeholders to identify key risks and support lending decisions.
• Manage credit files and ensure compliance with the lender’s risk policies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in bridging finance credit or underwriting, preferably within a specialist property lender.
• Strong credit judgement and ability to perform detailed financial analysis.
• Experience with residential, semi‑commercial and commercial loan applications.
• Ability to work independently, challenge proposals sensibly and manage cases end‑to‑end.
