Senior Cyber Threat Detection and Response Analyst

About the role

Babcock is looking for a Senior Cyber Threat Detection and Response Analyst to join its Cyber Security Operations capability at one of its main UK locations, with hybrid working. The role is a technical leadership position covering advanced threat detection, cyber defence, incident response and proactive threat hunting, working with specialist teams and influencing the direction of cyber defence strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex cyber security investigations and incident response activities
• Run proactive threat hunting to find emerging threats and vulnerabilities
• Analyse security alerts, logs and telemetry data to detect malicious activity
• Work with Threat Intelligence, Security Assurance, Vulnerability Management and IT Operations teams to strengthen cyber resilience
• Drive continuous improvement of detection capabilities, response processes and cyber defence strategies

Required profile

• Significant experience in Cyber Security Operations, Incident Response or Threat Detection environments
• Demonstrable experience investigating and managing complex cyber security incidents
• Relevant cyber security experience supported by industry-recognised cyber security qualifications
• Ability to achieve and maintain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance; must be a sole UK national

Required skills

• Knowledge of SIEM platforms, Endpoint Detection and Response technologies and Threat Detection and Response solutions
• Experience analysing logs, alerts, security telemetry and incident data
• Understanding of attacker TTPs, including the MITRE ATT&CK framework
• Desirable: GIAC certifications (GCIA, GCIH, GCFA, GCED), CISSP, CISM, SC-200, CREST practitioner qualifications
