Senior Duty Manager

About the role

Serco Leisure is looking for a full‑time Senior Duty Manager to lead the day‑to‑day operations of its flagship leisure centre in Mansfield. The role ensures a safe, welcoming environment and drives high standards of service for a diverse community of members and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all daily operational activities, including facility maintenance, health‑and‑safety compliance and customer service.
• Supervise and motivate a team of staff, scheduling shifts, providing training and leading by example.
• Handle member enquiries, resolve issues promptly and ensure an exceptional visitor experience.
• Monitor and coordinate the upkeep of pools, gyms, swimming areas and other amenities.
• Maintain accurate records, produce reports and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven leadership and team‑management experience in leisure, fitness or hospitality environments.
• Strong organisational and decision‑making abilities to address operational challenges.
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on delivering outstanding customer service.
• Commitment to community engagement, sustainability and health‑and‑safety standards.

Required skills

• First Aid certification.
• Health and Safety qualifications.
• Pool Plant Operations knowledge.
