About the role
We are looking for a Senior Estimator to join our construction team in Witham, Essex. The role will support the development of profitable tenders and help maximise market share across regional projects. You will work collaboratively in a supportive environment, building strong relationships with clients, suppliers and consultants.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and estimate costs for tenders, identifying opportunities to minimise risk and maximise profit.
- Lead and mentor the estimating team, promoting best practice and collaborative working.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
- Collaborate with design, planning, commercial and bid management teams throughout the tender process.
- Support the handover of projects to delivery teams, ensuring smooth transition and clear communication.
Required profile
- Experience working with a Main Contractor or Tier 1 Contractor.
- Proficiency in Excel, estimating software and take‑off tools such as Blue Beam.
- Demonstrated leadership experience within a pre‑construction team.
- Track record of supporting and developing junior team members.
- Detail‑oriented, problem‑solving approach with a conscientious work ethic.
