Senior Bid Manager – Construction

About the role

Kier is seeking a Senior Bid Manager to join its Construction team in Witham, Essex. You will lead the development and delivery of compelling bids that showcase Kier’s expertise and meet client needs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute bid strategies that win work, coordinating internal teams and external partners.
• Manage the full bid lifecycle from launch to submission, ensuring quality, technical and commercial requirements are met on time.
• Write and review responses that highlight strengths and differentiate Kier from competitors.
• Engage with client stakeholders, track risks and collaborate with specialists to mitigate challenges.
• Mentor and guide other bid managers, sharing best practice and driving continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Extensive experience developing bid‑win strategies and delivering high‑quality bids under tight deadlines.
• Excellent communicator and collaborator, able to unite diverse teams and inspire confidence.
• Keen eye for detail with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel and InDesign, comfortable with design and production processes.
• Passionate about continuous improvement and supporting the development of others.
