Senior Interaction Designer – Healthcare & Public Sector

About the role
Lead end‑to‑end interaction design for healthcare and public‑sector digital programmes, working within multidisciplinary, user‑centred teams to create real‑world impact.
Key responsibilities
- Develop user journeys, wireframes, prototypes and detailed design specifications aligned with GDS guidelines.
- Collaborate with service designers, researchers, developers and stakeholders to deliver accessible, effective services.
- Champion inclusive design and ensure WCAG 2.2 AA compliance.
- Facilitate workshops, co‑design activities and present design recommendations to clients.
- Mentor junior designers and contribute to the growth of the design practice.
Required profile
- Proven experience as an Interaction Designer, preferably in healthcare or public‑sector projects.
- Working knowledge of HTML/CSS and ability to prototype using the NHS design system or GDS.
- Familiarity with the Gov Service Standard and full design lifecycle from discovery to delivery.
- Strong understanding of user‑centred design principles, UX methodologies and accessibility standards.
- Basic content design skills and ability to run user research to test designs.
