Senior Lettings Negotiator / Assistant Lettings Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Lettings Negotiator ready to step into an Assistant Lettings Manager role within a well‑established independent estate agency in Hove. You will help drive the lettings department forward, supporting daily operations and mentoring a junior team member.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct market appraisals and secure new lettings instructions.
• Build and maintain relationships with landlords, tenants and prospective clients.
• Support the day‑to‑day management of the lettings office.
• Lead, mentor and motivate one team member.
• Negotiate lettings and progress tenancies to completion.
• Generate new business through networking, referrals and proactive canvassing.
• Provide expert advice on rental values and current market conditions.
• Ensure compliance with lettings legislation and industry best practice.
• Deliver exceptional customer service while achieving individual and branch targets.

Required profile

• Proven experience in residential lettings and market appraisals.
• Track record of winning new business and meeting targets.
• Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
• Ability to build long‑term relationships with landlords and tenants.
• Proactive, self‑motivated and commercially aware approach.
• Previous supervisory or team‑lead experience (advantageous).
• Full UK driving licence.
