Senior Mental Health Support Worker – Oxford

About the role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Mental Health Support Worker to join our Transitional Support team in Oxford. You will lead shifts, manage medication and incidents, and mentor junior staff while providing person‑centred care to adults with serious mental illness.
Key responsibilities
- Lead daily shifts and delegate tasks to support workers.
- Manage medication administration and ensure compliance with health‑safety policies.
- Take charge of incidents, safeguarding concerns and complaints in the manager’s absence.
- Mentor new staff, deliver Care Certificate and medication training.
- Maintain a safe, comfortable environment in shared houses and flats.
- Participate in on‑call rota to support residents out of hours.
- Respond to service queries from internal and external customers.
Required profile
- Significant experience supporting adults with psychotic illnesses and co‑existing conditions.
- Ability to work independently and lead a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication and safeguarding awareness.
- Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends.
Required skills
- Medication management.
- Incident and risk management.
- Care Certificate assessment and training delivery.
