Senior Network Analyst

About the role

Ember is seeking an experienced analyst to design, launch and continuously improve its electric‑bus network. You will work across the full route lifecycle – from identifying opportunities on maps to building probabilistic timetables, coordinating with councils and ensuring operational readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Identify new route opportunities using GIS, on‑ground research and community engagement.
• Design and register probabilistic timetables, handling council consultation and Traffic Commissioner approval.
• Collaborate with operations and charging teams to align driver staffing, vehicle allocation and charging infrastructure.
• Monitor live service performance, analyse data and iterate on routes, timetables or stops.
• Build and improve internal tooling for network planning, often working with engineers and AI models.

Required profile

• Statistically literate – expert in spreadsheets, comfortable with complex formulas.
• Grounded – can distinguish useful models from over‑fitting results.
• AI‑native – uses frontier AI models to accelerate analysis.
• Detail‑oriented yet strategic – can zoom into a single stop and zoom out to system‑wide impacts.
• Passionate about transport and comfortable working in the field.
• Hands‑on and self‑managing – able to run multiple projects and support colleagues.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (complex formulas, data analysis).
• SQL.
• Python.

What we offer

• Salary £55,000–£75,000 per year plus share options.
