Senior Paraplanner

About the role

An established independent financial planning firm in Leeds is looking for an experienced Senior Paraplanner to join its growing technical team. You will support advisers with complex pension, investment and protection cases, while mentoring junior staff and shaping internal processes. The role offers a clear route towards an advisory position for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities

• Write high‑quality suitability reports and comprehensive financial planning documentation.
• Produce and maintain detailed cash‑flow models for client portfolios.
• Support advisers with technical research, case preparation and complex client queries.
• Assist with ongoing portfolio reviews and strategic planning.
• Mentor junior paraplanners and contribute to improvements in templates, processes and technical standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years’ paraplanning experience within a financial planning firm.
• Level 4 Diploma (or equivalent) in financial planning.
• Strong technical knowledge of pensions, investments and protection products.
• Proactive, collaborative attitude with a desire to develop towards an advisory role.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Use of financial planning tools/software.
• Cash‑flow modeling expertise.
