Senior Planner – Major Projects (Manchester)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join a leading main contractor in Manchester, supporting the delivery of a strong pipeline of major commercial and education projects across Greater Manchester and the North West.

The role involves managing detailed construction programmes from pre‑construction through to completion, working closely with operational teams and senior stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and manage detailed construction programmes using Asta Powerproject or Primavera P6.
• Develop tender and contract programmes.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement recovery strategies where required.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure programmes are realistic, achievable, and aligned with project objectives.
• Provide programme updates and reporting to senior management and clients.
• Support planning best practice across multiple projects.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Planner or Senior Planner with a main contractor.
• Experience delivering commercial, education, or large‑scale construction projects.
• Strong working knowledge of Asta Powerproject and/or Primavera P6.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work across multiple projects within a collaborative delivery team.
