Senior Project Architect

About the role

An established architectural practice is seeking a Senior Project Architect for its expanding Colchester studio. You will own schemes from concept through to completion, coordinating with clients, consultants and contractors while mentoring junior team members.

Key responsibilities

• Manage projects across all RIBA work stages, from brief to handover.
• Produce detailed technical drawings and construction packages using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Prepare planning applications, Building Regulations submissions and other technical documentation.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors and internal teams to ensure smooth delivery.
• Oversee project programmes, budgets and resource allocation.
• Conduct site inspections and monitor construction progress.
• Maintain compliance with UK Building Regulations and industry standards.
• Create high‑quality presentations using SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite.

Required profile

• ARB registration (RIBA membership advantageous).
• Extensive post‑Part III experience in the UK.
• Proven track record of delivering projects from concept to completion.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and client‑facing abilities.
• Motivated, organised and confident leadership style.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Revit.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Experience with SketchUp.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
• In‑depth knowledge of UK Building Regulations and construction methods.
