Senior Project Manager - Design & Build

About the role

A high-performing Design & Build contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to take full ownership of large-value commercial projects typically worth £10m or more. The role calls for a confident leader who has delivered complex schemes from inception to completion, working with commercial, technical and design teams. You will lead programme delivery, oversee commercial matters, coordinate technical services and engage clients, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the autonomous delivery of major projects of £10m+, accountable for programme, quality, safety and client satisfaction.
• Manage commercial aspects with the Commercial Manager on procurement, cost control, variations and reporting.
• Develop and run detailed project programmes, sequencing, logistics and critical path activities.
• Oversee Design & Build and Detail & Build projects, integrating design, technical services and site delivery.
• Support the Technical Services Manager and technical team so MEP, compliance and commissioning are aligned.
• Work with architects, consultants and design teams on buildability and clarity.
• Maintain long-term client relationships from pre-construction to handover.
• Lead site teams, subcontractors and suppliers and ensure documentation, reporting, H&S compliance and QA are up to standard.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering large-value (£10m+) commercial projects in a D&B or Detail & Build environment.
• Strong commercial awareness and programme management experience on complex, multi-phase projects.
• Extensive experience with technical teams, including TSMs and MEP specialists.
• Stable employment history with long-term commitment and delivery across several major projects.
• Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
