Senior Project Manager – New Product Design

About the role

The Senior Project Manager will lead complex New Product Design (NPD) projects from concept through to market launch, ensuring delivery on time, on budget, and to customer satisfaction. Based in Aberdeen with a hybrid working model, the role involves national and occasional international travel and requires SC‑level security clearance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and deliver projects across the full lifecycle, adhering to JFS governance and reporting standards.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑value, technically complex projects.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and senior leadership.
• Identify and mitigate risks while capitalising on opportunities.
• Oversee project budgets, forecasts, cash‑flow, invoicing and payments in line with contract terms.
• Forecast resource needs and allocate teams effectively.
• Review contractual obligations, highlight operational risks early, and manage change control processes.
• Conduct risk and opportunity assessments, implement contingency plans, and capture lessons learned for continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Adaptable leader with a proven track record of delivering commitments and building lasting relationships.
• Confident communicator comfortable engaging with senior leadership and promoting safety leadership.
• Experience taking NPD projects from concept through gated processes to successful market launch.
• Strong mechanical engineering and manufacturing background with focus on robust design and Design for Manufacture.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and reduce technical and manufacturing risks across the product lifecycle.
• Skilled at aligning cross‑functional teams to ensure design intent matches production capability and business objectives.
