Senior Quantity Surveyor

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Southern Water team, based in either Kent or East/West Sussex. The role can be based at Southern Water Offices in Chatham (ME5 7QA) or at Falmer (BN1 9PY) with some remote working available. Full‑time hours are 40 per week, though part‑time or condensed hours may be considered.

Key responsibilities

• Manage commercial performance through effective team leadership, contract administration, and risk management.
• Ensure robust cost reporting and forecasting while maintaining excellent client relationships.
• Support junior team members and foster their professional development.
• Collaborate with the procurement team to implement effective procurement strategies.
• Maximise cash flow through diligent measurement, valuation, and financial control procedures.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying.
• Experience working with NEC forms of contract and current Construction Law.
• Excellent communication skills for building relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Enjoy mentoring junior team members and sharing expertise.
• Ability to thrive in collaborative environments while working independently.
