Senior Reinsurance Claims Adjuster – London

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Claims Adjuster specialising in reinsurance to join a leading insurer in the Lloyd’s of London market. The role involves end‑to‑end handling of complex treaty claims across casualty, marine, property and aviation, ensuring accurate assessment, reserving and settlement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of complex, high‑value reinsurance claims across multiple treaty classes.
• Perform coverage analysis, liability determination, reserving and settlement in a timely and accurate manner.
• Maintain control of large losses and catastrophe exposures.
• Apply treaty wordings and reinsurance contract knowledge to drive appropriate outcomes.
• Establish and monitor accurate claims reserves aligned with loss development.
• Contribute to claims management information, trend analysis and portfolio performance reporting.
• Support reserving processes through monthly and quarterly reviews.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with cedants, brokers, underwriters, actuaries and internal stakeholders.
• Act as a primary contact for claims negotiations and discussions.
• Collaborate with global claims teams, including locations in Bermuda and Singapore, as required.
• Work closely with underwriting and actuarial teams to monitor portfolio profitability.

Required profile

• Strong technical expertise in reinsurance claims handling.
• Proven experience managing complex or high‑value claims within the London market.
• Good understanding of reinsurance contract structures and coverage interpretation.
• Experience working with brokers, cedants and internal stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and reserving capability.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple claims effectively.
• Knowledge of the Lloyd’s market.
