Senior Software Engineer - Applied AI

About the role

At CoMind we are developing a non‑invasive neuromonitoring technology that will define a new era of clinical brain monitoring. You will build the platform that transforms raw neuro‑signals into longitudinal patient insights, setting a new standard of care in neuro‑critical settings.

Key responsibilities

• AI Integration: integrate an on‑device LLM into the CoMind One system and build the query/response layer clinicians interact with.
• Model evaluation & reliability: design evaluation, prompting and guard‑rail approaches to ensure safe clinical outputs.
• Systems performance: optimise inference latency, memory and throughput on constrained on‑device hardware.
• Medical device software development: develop software to IEC 62304 and ISO 14971 standards for real‑time behaviour and clinician interfaces.
• Compliance & cybersecurity: ensure AI deployments meet FDA guidance and cybersecurity requirements.
• Reliability & collaboration: maintain fleet reliability and work with hardware, product and clinical teams to resolve issues quickly.

Required profile

• 7+ years of hands‑on software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in C++ and Python.
• Practical experience using large language models (prompting, guardrails, RAG, evaluation).
• Proven track record of integrating models into production products used by clinicians.
• Experience with performance‑sensitive, resource‑constrained systems.
• Solid knowledge of Git and CI/CD pipelines.
