Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Menlo Security is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join its Threat Protection and ShadowAI team in the UK. The team ensures users can safely browse the web through Menlo's secure cloud, protecting them from malicious sites and securing access to authorised web applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and own new features and services for the Threat Protection and ShadowAI product area.
• Build highly available, scalable distributed systems and APIs, including multithreaded and asynchronous applications.
• Refine detection and policy capabilities that give customers visibility into generative AI and unsanctioned web usage.
• Participate in production deployment, monitoring, and rapid defect resolution using dashboards and AI‑assisted log analysis.
• Use AI code assistants and AI‑assisted test generation while ensuring correctness, security, and maintainability.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of professional software development experience with NodeJS, Go, or Python.
• 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience with cloud services such as GCP and/or AWS.
• Working experience with Linux and standard development tooling such as Git.
• Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Practical fluency with AI coding and debugging assistants, applying sound judgement on LLM output.
• Self‑directed problem‑solving ability and capacity to learn unfamiliar systems quickly.
