About the role
Checkout.com is seeking an enthusiastic Senior Specialist in Corporate Communications to join its fast‑paced Communications and Content team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. The role is designed for an experienced communications professional ready to own high‑quality execution across a broad range of corporate communications activities while developing strategic judgment and influence.
Key responsibilities
- Develop targeted media pitches, build relationships with journalists and influencers, and secure coverage in priority outlets.
- Draft high‑quality written materials such as press releases, bylines, briefing documents, and spokesperson preparation materials.
- Manage day‑to‑day press office activities, including fielding enquiries, organising interviews, and ensuring timely media responses.
- Support awards and list‑pitches by identifying opportunities, drafting submissions, and meeting deadlines.
- Maintain analytics and reporting on communications activity, using data to evaluate performance and improve future work.
- Partner with the wider marketing team to coordinate international PR efforts and ensure consistent execution across markets.
- Leverage AI and agentic workflows to improve pace, output, and quality while maintaining editorial accuracy.
- Assist with communications planning and execution for sensitive or high‑stakes issues, preparing materials and coordinating responses.
Required profile
- Demonstrated experience in corporate communications or public relations, either in‑house or agency.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to craft compelling press materials and media pitches.
- Proven media relations track record, especially with trade, business, or technology outlets.
- Strong organisational and project‑management abilities, handling multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Data‑driven mindset, experienced in using reporting and analytics to assess communications performance.
- Collaborative, proactive approach with the ability to influence peers and manage stakeholders effectively.
- Experience supporting communications on sensitive or high‑profile matters, demonstrating sound judgement.
