Senior Surveyor – Property Services (London)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Surveyor to lead our Responsive Repairs team within the Property Services division. You will ensure high‑quality, timely repairs across a social housing portfolio while delivering an outstanding resident experience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance on complex repairs, building defects and diagnostic solutions.
• Support and develop the Responsive Repairs team to maintain a customer‑focused service.
• Manage contractor performance and foster effective working relationships.
• Monitor Surveyor workloads, productivity and repair quality against performance targets.
• Scope and validate repairs using the NHF Schedule of Rates (SOR) and basket rates.
• Assist with complaint resolution, disrepair cases and complex building issues.
• Produce performance reports, identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
• Control expenditure within budget and coordinate with planned maintenance teams.
• Promote compliance with Health & Safety legislation, CDM Regulations and company policies.
• Participate in the out‑of‑hours rota as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing or mentoring a surveying team in responsive repairs or property maintenance.
• Strong background in diagnosing complex building defects within social housing.
• Familiarity with the NHF Schedule of Rates (SOR), basket rates and repair specifications.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
