Senior Town Planner – Hybrid (Essex)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Town Planner to join a well‑established property development and planning consultancy in Essex. The role offers hybrid working and the chance to influence a diverse portfolio of residential and mixed‑use projects across the South East.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit planning applications, appeals and supporting documentation.
• Provide clear, commercially focused planning advice to clients.
• Manage planning projects from early feasibility through to determination.
• Liaise with local planning authorities, consultants and stakeholders.
• Undertake site appraisals and planning research.
• Assist in developing planning strategies for residential and mixed‑use schemes.
• Monitor changes in planning policy and legislation.

Required profile

• Degree in Town Planning or a related discipline.
• Working towards or already MRTPI qualified (or equivalent).
• Experience in a planning consultancy, developer or local authority.
• Strong report writing and communication abilities.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Proactive and commercially minded approach.
