Senior Town Planner – Hybrid Working in Devon

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Town Planner to join a highly respected and growing planning consultancy based in Devon. The role offers genuine autonomy, exposure to high‑quality work and a clear pathway for professional development across residential, commercial, rural and mixed‑use projects.

Key responsibilities

• Managing a range of planning projects from inception through to determination
• Preparing planning appraisals, statements and appeals
• Liaising with local authorities, stakeholders and clients
• Providing strategic planning advice across a variety of sectors
• Supporting and mentoring junior team members where appropriate
• Attending client meetings, site visits and public consultations

Required profile

• MRTPI qualified (or working towards chartership with significant experience)
• Previous experience within a planning consultancy or local authority environment
• Strong knowledge of the UK planning system
• Excellent written communication and report writing skills
• Ability to manage workloads independently and build strong client relationships
• Full UK driving licence preferred
