Senior Treasury Manager – Cash Management & Safeguarding (UK)

About the role

Nium is seeking a Senior Treasury Manager to own safeguarding for its UK‑regulated entities. The role combines regulatory ownership, treasury decision‑making and 4‑eyes oversight of operational work across the group. You will be the day‑to‑day authority on UK safeguarding compliance, reporting to the FCA and chairing the UK Safeguarding Committee.

Key responsibilities

• Own safeguarding compliance under EMR 2011, PSR 2017 and CASS15, including gap analysis and audit‑ready fund‑flow documentation.
• Perform daily reconciliation checks, provide 4‑eyes review of group treasury work and maintain robust audit trails.
• Run the UK Safeguarding Committee, produce governance and MI reports for senior management and the board.
• Make cash‑management decisions on fund diversification, liquidity and interest optimisation while meeting CASS15 limits.
• Partner with product, sales and engineering teams to embed safeguarding controls in new product launches and manage banking relationships.

Required profile

• Proven experience in fintech, e‑money or other CASS‑regulated environments with hands‑on knowledge of EMR, PSR and CASS15.
• Strong treasury background with a track record of making cash‑management and investment decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to manage reconciliations, 4‑eyes controls and operational risk in a fast‑moving regulatory setting.
• Comfortable collaborating with compliance, legal, product and engineering teams and leading governance committees.

Required skills

• SQL for data extraction and analysis.
• Advanced Excel for reconciliation and reporting.
• Business Intelligence tools to build dashboards and automate processes.
