Sensor Fusion Engineer – Autonomous Systems

About the role

As a Sensor Fusion Engineer on the UK Engineering team, you will develop tracking, fusion and state‑estimation capabilities for unmanned autonomous systems, including single‑agent and multi‑target detection and tracking algorithms for swarms.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement detection, tracking and multi‑target fusion algorithms for optical, RF, radar and lidar sensors.
• Develop decentralized multi‑agent tracking solutions for autonomous swarms.
• Collaborate with autonomy, software and cross‑functional teams to move algorithms from concept to production‑ready code.
• Maintain and optimise C++/Python codebases for cross‑platform deployment.
• Support testing and validation on real‑world autonomous platforms.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience building tracking and sensor‑fusion software for autonomous robotic systems.
• Proven ability to work with optical, RF, radar and lidar sensor data.
• Willingness to travel between offices and customer sites.

Required skills

• Proficient in C++ and Python.
• Experience with Kalman Filters, Particle Filters and other state‑estimation techniques.
• Multi‑target prediction and tracking expertise.
• Cross‑platform sensor‑fusion development.
