Ship Repair Project Engineer

About the role

Avantis Marine UK is looking for an organised and proactive Ship Repair Project Engineer to support the planning, engineering coordination and delivery of marine repair, refit and maintenance projects. The role works with the Project Manager and the wider project team to coordinate project information, activities and communication so that projects are delivered safely, efficiently and well organised. It is based in the Cardiff office with hybrid working.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager with planning and coordinating marine repair, refit and maintenance projects
• Coordinate engineering information, technical requirements and project activities with relevant stakeholders
• Monitor actions, priorities and progress to keep tasks organised and on schedule
• Maintain accurate project records and help prepare, organise and share project documentation
• Liaise with the Project Manager, colleagues and other stakeholders to keep information flowing clearly and on time
• Record project queries, decisions and actions, escalating matters to the right people when needed
• Support project activities in line with company procedures and health and safety requirements

Required profile

• Able to manage information and competing priorities in a structured and reliable way
• Confident working collaboratively and communicating clearly with colleagues and stakeholders
• Careful with project information, records and technical documentation
• Able to track tasks and actions and follow through to project deadlines
• Able to respond constructively to changing project requirements and raise potential issues
• Experience supporting projects, engineering coordination or project administration is beneficial; experience in marine repair, refit, maintenance or a related engineering environment is an advantage
• Able to work from the Cardiff office as part of a hybrid arrangement
