Site Manager – National Grid Projects

About the role

Due to continued success in the sector we are looking to appoint a Site Manager with proven experience delivering National Grid projects. The role ensures safe and compliant practices on site, overseeing day‑to‑day activities, managing resources and coordinating with construction, engineering and commissioning teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and supervise site teams, including subcontractors and operatives, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant delivery of construction and installation works.
• Oversee site resources, plant and materials, maintain quality standards, conduct inspections and manage defects.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations, conduct risk assessments, toolbox talks and safety inspections, and follow CDM regulations.
• Monitor progress against programme, report issues, provide regular progress reports and maintain site records and H&S logs.
• Act as primary interface for clients, subcontractors, suppliers and regulators, coordinating with design, engineering and commissioning teams and liaising with commercial and planning staff.

Required profile

• SMSTS or equivalent site management health and safety certification.
• Proven experience as a Site Manager or Assistant Site Manager delivering projects in the energy sector, managing multi‑disciplinary teams and subcontractors.
• Demonstrable experience delivering projects on schedule, within budget and to quality standards, with strong health, safety and environmental compliance.
• Ability to coordinate with clients, regulators and statutory authorities on‑site.

Required skills

• SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification.
• Knowledge of CDM Regulations and health, safety and environmental compliance.
