Site Manager – Private School Facilities

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Site Manager to lead the day‑to‑day operation, maintenance and safety of a prestigious private school in Kew. The role ensures that the campus remains a secure, compliant and high‑performing environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the operation, maintenance and security of all school buildings and grounds.
• Plan and manage preventative maintenance programmes and reactive repairs.
• Coordinate contractors and service providers, ensuring work is on time and within budget.
• Lead health and safety compliance, conduct risk assessments, inspections and audits.
• Act as Fire Safety Officer and maintain fire safety records and emergency procedures.
• Manage security systems including access control, alarms and CCTV.
• Support school events, lettings and external bookings.
• Supervise cleaning, caretaking and grounds staff where applicable.
• Control budgets for site services and maintenance.
• Identify and implement energy‑efficiency and sustainability improvements.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Site Manager, Facilities Manager or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and compliance.
• Experience managing contractors and maintenance schedules.
• Excellent organisational and communication abilities.
• Desirable experience within an education or private‑school setting.
• Relevant qualifications such as IOSH, NEBOSH or facilities‑management certifications.
