Skilled Civils Roadworker – Full‑Time, Permanent (Oban)

About the role

BEAR Scotland is seeking a Skilled Civils Roadworker to join its Oban team. This full‑time, permanent position involves hands‑on work on highways, drainage and civil engineering projects, offering long‑term stability and career development for a reliable professional.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out road construction and resurfacing works
• Install kerbing, paving and drainage systems
• Undertake excavation and general groundwork duties
• Operate hand tools and small plant machinery safely
• Support traffic management and site setup
• Assist with general civil engineering tasks as required
• Maintain high standards of health and safety at all times

Required profile

• Previous experience in civils, roadworks or groundworks (essential)
• Full UK driving licence (essential)
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Valid CSCS Card (desirable)
• NRSWA / Streetworks certification (desirable)
• CPCS or NPORS plant tickets (desirable)
• Availability to reach the Oban depot within 30 minutes for standby rota
