SMT Operator – Electronics Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking an experienced SMT Operator to join a well‑established electronics manufacturer in Waterlooville. You will be responsible for setting up, programming and running SMT machinery to support the production of high‑quality electronic products.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate and programme SMT equipment such as pick‑and‑place machines and reflow ovens.
• Prepare and load components, feeders and reels for each production run.
• Verify machine configuration against Bills of Materials, drawings and work instructions.

Required profile

• Proven experience operating and programming SMT machinery.
• Strong background in PCB assembly, including SMT and PTH soldering.
• Experience working to IPC‑A‑610 Class 2 standards (minimum).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and BOMs.
• Successful candidates will undergo a DBS check.

What we offer

• 8‑12 week temporary assignment with the possibility of permanent employment.
• £13.50‑£14.50 per hour.
• 37‑hour week: Monday‑Thursday 7:30 am‑4:00 pm, Friday 7:30 am‑1:00 pm.
