Social Media Coordinator, Publishing

About the role

Join BBC TV Social Publishing and help operate some of the BBC’s biggest social media accounts, including @BBC, @BBCiPlayer and @BBCOne. Working across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube, you will publish, optimise and analyse content that connects millions of viewers with the BBC’s television programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Support day‑to‑day publishing and optimisation of major BBC TV social media accounts, ensuring content aligns with account strategy.
• Write and optimise copy for each platform and create thumbnails to boost audience engagement.
• Use audience insight and performance data to inform publishing decisions, content planning and optimisation.
• Collaborate with TV Social Publishing, Campaigns, Production and other BBC teams to coordinate social content delivery.
• Take ownership of assigned activities, delivering content accurately, on time and in line with BBC editorial and compliance standards.
• Monitor platform developments, contribute to performance reporting and identify opportunities to improve engagement and workflows.

Required profile

• Experience contributing to planning, publishing, optimisation or performance management of social media accounts within a broadcaster, publisher, media organisation, agency or similar audience‑focused environment.
• Excellent written communication with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to make sound content decisions, understanding audience needs, brand considerations and editorial standards.
• Proven use of performance data and audience insight to shape recommendations.
• Capability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast‑paced team.
