Software Engineer – Machine Learning

About the role

Figma is expanding its Roundtripping team to build AI‑driven tools that bridge design and code. As a Software Engineer focused on Machine Learning, you will help shape the future of developer‑designer collaboration by creating generative‑AI products that move ideas from concept to production.

Key responsibilities

• Build and evolve Dev Mode and MCP tools that enable seamless dev/design collaboration.
• Develop new 0→1 products within the agentic coding space.
• Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and engineers to deliver high‑quality features.
• Mentor peers and be mentored across engineering, product, and design.
• Foster strong personal connections and contribute to Figma’s culture.

Required profile

• 3+ years leading large‑scale engineering projects with high impact.
• Experience building user‑facing LLM and agentic product features.
• Proven ability to curate and develop evaluation sets and use LLMs as judges.
• Strong attention to detail, craftsmanship, and focus on user impact.

Required skills

• Fluency with React and Typescript.
• Full‑stack development experience delivering user‑facing features.
• Hands‑on experience with Large Language Models, including training or fine‑tuning.
• Knowledge of generative AI and agentic workflows.
