Solution Architect

About the role

A leading professional services organisation in Bristol is embarking on a technology transformation programme and seeks an experienced Solution Architect to design scalable, secure, and integrated solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Produce high‑level designs (HLDs) and detailed low‑level designs (LLDs).
• Lead solution discovery and translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Define integration approaches, APIs and data flows between enterprise platforms and business systems.
• Support architecture governance, technical design reviews and solution assurance activities.
• Ensure solutions meet security, scalability, resilience and operational support requirements.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, delivery teams and third‑party suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Contribute to architecture standards, best practices and reusable design patterns.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Solution Architect delivering enterprise‑scale solutions.
• Ability to engage both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Strong strategic thinking combined with hands‑on design capability.
• Experience working across applications, infrastructure and data domains.
• Comfortable operating in a collaborative, cross‑functional environment.

Required skills

• Microsoft Azure cloud platform (or equivalent).
• Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• API design and modern integration patterns.
• Systems integration and data flow design.
• Identity and access management concepts.
• Security and architecture governance principles.
• Production of High‑Level and Low‑Level Design documentation.
