Space Manager & Estates Business Partner

About the role

The Space Manager & Estates Business Partner will lead space management services, advising senior university leaders and aligning space allocation with strategic ambitions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the space management service, planning and implementing changes in space allocation across the university.
• Advise the Estates Leadership Team and University Executive on governance, strategic planning and effective utilisation of space.
• Collaborate with Heads of Schools and Services to assess and plan space requirements, analyse future demand and deliver the university’s space strategy.
• Ensure all space planning and design comply with university design standards, masterplans and aesthetic guidelines.

Required profile

• Degree in Space Management, Facilities Management, Real Estate, Architecture, Planning or equivalent experience.
• Experience using workplace management/CAFM systems such as PLANON.
• Strong analytical, numerical and organisational skills with ability to present data effectively.
• Experience in a higher‑education or similarly complex organisation and understanding of estate strategy, master‑planning and space governance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with PLANON or equivalent CAFM system.
• Knowledge of space planning principles and utilisation methodologies.
