Specialised SEND Tutor – 1‑1 Support in St Helens

About the role

We are looking for a qualified 1‑to‑1 Specialised SEND Tutor to support pupils in the St Helens area. The role combines classroom tuition of core subjects with mentoring activities that help young people develop life‑skills and integrate into the community.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver core subject tuition to individual SEND pupils.
• Provide mentoring support, including CV writing, future planning and life‑skills development.
• Organise and accompany pupils on local trips to aid community integration.
• Collaborate with parents and professionals to tailor learning plans.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Proven experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils.
• UK teaching experience and a creative, patient approach.
• Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS with online update service.
• Two professional child‑related references.

Required skills

• QTS or comparable teaching qualification.
• Experience delivering one‑to‑one SEND support.
