About the role
Teaching Personnel is partnering with a welcoming primary school in Bispham to recruit a Specialist Support Assistant (SEMH) for a Year 3 class. The role starts in September 2026 and focuses on supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs and challenging behaviour.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support within the Year 3 classroom.
- Implement behaviour management strategies and individual support plans.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress.
- Encourage emotional regulation, engagement and positive learning behaviours.
- Help create a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment.
Required profile
- Experience working with SEMH, SEN or challenging behaviour.
- Calm, patient and confident when managing behaviours.
- Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
- Adaptable and responsive to changing classroom needs.
- Genuine passion for supporting children’s development.
