Staff Nurse – Adult Surgical Ward

About the role

We are seeking a Staff Nurse to join a 30‑bed adult surgical ward delivering care across Plastic Surgery, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, ENT and Ophthalmology. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide safe, patient‑centred care from admission to discharge.

Key responsibilities

• Support senior nurses in delivering high‑quality care on a busy surgical ward.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised patient care plans.
• Accurately document and communicate patient information to the nursing team, multidisciplinary colleagues and families.
• Respond promptly and calmly to emergency situations, ensuring patient safety.
• Identify patient needs, discuss them with the team and coordinate care with carers.
• Manage your own workload and contribute to problem‑solving and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Registered Staff Nurse qualified to practice in the UK.
• Experience or interest in adult surgical specialties such as Plastic Surgery, ENT, Ophthalmology or Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
• Ability to work independently, plan workload and prioritize tasks.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, families and multidisciplinary staff.
