Staff Nurse – Ward I, Lorn & Islands Rural General Hospital

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated Registered Nurse to join Ward I at Lorn & Islands Rural General Hospital in Oban. The ward provides 14 general medical beds with a focus on rehabilitation, stroke recovery and palliative care, offering a friendly and supportive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality nursing care to patients across acute medical, rehabilitation, stroke and palliative pathways.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient‑centred care plans.
• Participate in service development initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
• Undertake Intermediate Life Support (ILS) training as required.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with robust clinical skills in acute medical nursing.
• Evidence of continuous professional development and a commitment to lifelong learning.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Experience in rehabilitation is desirable but not essential.
• Willingness to work in a rural hospital setting and contribute to a supportive team culture.

Required skills

• Intermediate Life Support (ILS) – training provided if not already held.
