Stock Condition Surveyor (South East)

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Stock Condition Surveyor to join our housing team on a 12‑month fixed‑term basis. Working from home while covering the South East region, you will assess the condition of homes, gather vital data and help shape investment decisions that improve residents' living standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out approximately 1,000 stock condition surveys per year, recording building age, condition and component lifecycles.
• Identify hazards, compliance issues and repair needs to ensure homes are safe, secure and warm.
• Support compliance with the Decent Homes Standard and HHSRS regulations.
• Conduct void, pre‑termination and new‑build stage inspections as required.
• Maintain accurate housing asset data to inform future investment planning.
• Collaborate with residents, internal teams and external partners to share insights and improve services.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification (HNC or equivalent) in construction, housing or property.
• Solid understanding of building construction, defects and component lifecycles.
• Knowledge of the Decent Homes Standard and HHSRS.
• Proven ability to manage workload independently and meet demanding targets.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude.
• Strong IT competence for accurate data entry and maintenance.
• Flexibility to travel across Milton Keynes, Luton, Stevenage and Cambridge.
