Strategic Buyer – Global Supply Management

About the role

We are seeking a strategic Buyer to join a leading global distribution business. You will manage international supplier relationships, drive commercial negotiations and optimise inventory across multiple distribution centres.

Key responsibilities

• Source and manage a diverse portfolio of global suppliers, ensuring compliance with trade regulations and quality standards.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, volume discounts and SLAs to improve margins.
• Analyse market trends to forecast price movements and align purchasing timing with commercial targets.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels, generate purchase orders, track shipments and resolve invoice discrepancies.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of buying or procurement experience in a global distribution, wholesale or FMCG environment.
• Strong commercial mindset with understanding of gross margins and total cost of ownership.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to navigate cross‑cultural negotiations.
• Detail‑oriented and capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or NetSuite.
• Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.
