Student Services Advisor

About the role

We are looking for a Student Services Advisor to be the first point of contact for students, staff and visitors at the London College of Contemporary Music’s Music Box campus. The role involves providing accurate information, guiding enquiries to the right services and creating a welcoming first impression of the college. This is an entry‑level position ideal for candidates who are passionate about supporting students and developing a career in higher‑education administration.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the front‑desk contact for in‑person, email, telephone and online student enquiries.
• Provide friendly, professional information on finance, hardship, disability, wellbeing, academic support, IT and technical services.
• Tri­age enquiries, arrange appointments or referrals and escalate complex issues to senior staff.
• Welcome visitors, notify staff of arrivals and manage room bookings and meeting arrangements.
• Support day‑to‑day student administration including enrolment, induction, re‑enrolment, letter preparation and record‑keeping.
• Conduct weekly attendance calls and sign‑post students to appropriate support services.
• Maintain a safe, organised reception environment and ensure GDPR‑compliant handling of student data.

Required profile

• Entry‑level candidate with a genuine interest in student support and higher‑education services.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle confidential information in line with GDPR.
• Proactive, courteous and able to work effectively in a busy front‑of‑house environment.
