Superflex Roadside Mechanic – Richmond

About the role

The RAC is looking for a flexible, full‑time Superflex Roadside Mechanic to join its Richmond cluster. You will respond to breakdowns across Richmond, Barnes, Mortlake, Putney, Roehampton and Wandsworth, helping members get back on the road quickly.

Key responsibilities

• Attend roadside incidents between 06:00 and 02:00, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
• Diagnose and repair light‑vehicle faults on‑site using provided tools and diagnostic kits.
• Complete paperwork and update service records for each call.
• Maintain a clean, fully‑equipped RAC van and ensure all equipment is serviceable.
• Adhere to health and safety standards while working in varied traffic environments.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with at least 2 years’ experience, **or** 5 years’ experience as a vehicle technician/mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 penalty points.
• Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
