Supply Teacher – Flexible Secondary Teaching in St Albans

About the role

Academics is seeking secondary supply teachers to work across St Albans and the surrounding Hertfordshire area from September. This role offers the freedom to choose when and where you work while gaining experience in a variety of local secondary schools.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the national curriculum to secondary pupils across a range of subjects.
• Maintain effective classroom management and a positive learning environment.
• Adapt quickly to new school settings, timetables and student groups.
• Complete all required compliance checks and paperwork before each placement.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
• Proven experience teaching at secondary level.
• Confident classroom management and professional, adaptable approach.
• Ability to settle into new schools with minimal preparation.
